The Irish Inter-Church Meeting 2024, held in Belfast, embraced the theme “Finding the Face of God in One Another”. Leaders from many denominations gathered to foster unity, addressing reconciliation, shared mission, and ecological justice. The Focolare Movement in Italy & Albania organized a major Conference on “Church, Face of Hope”, from 7th-10th November in the Mariapolis Centre of Castelgandolfo. The event brought together approximately 900 participants from diverse social, religious, and community backgrounds. Reflecting Pope Francis’ vision for an open, inclusive Church, the conference centred around the themes of Mary as Mother of Humanity, Church, and Hope.
Each day offered a blend of keynotes, group dialogues, and artistic expressions. Discussions highlighted the Church’s role in promoting unity and resilience amid today’s societal challenges. On the final day, Margaret Karram and Jesús Morán, Focolare’s President and Vice-President, underscored the importance of synodality and mission. The conference highlighted the Church’s potential to be a beacon of hope, committed to inclusivity, dialogue and service, resonating far beyond ecclesial circles.
